A.P.R. doesn’t refer to interest rates.
It means: Accept Personal Responsibility.
You see, none of us will change and grow until we accept personal responsibility for our own lives.
Henry Cloud summed it up with this quote:
We change our behavior when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of changing.
There comes a time in everyone’s life (and possibly more than once!) when we finally say, “I have had enough!” and we consciously start making the choices that will affect our life and lead us to where we want to be.
We quit blaming others:
We “woman up” and decide to take charge of life instead of letting it take charge of us.
This becomes your life-changing moment, whether you are 16 or 60.
I remember quite clearly the last time I decided to step up to the table and not let “life” take me by the hand (or push me to the ground), and make my own decisions that would get me where I wanted to be, even if it meant failure. I was quite literally more worried about the imminent failure I could foresee on the horizon than taking a chance on myself.

Accepting personal responsibility is the very first action that must occur before we are to live an enlightened life – a life where we can have, be or do anything we desire.
This is very much possible for each and every one of us, but we must first A.P.R.
Once you do so, once you step up and say “enough is enough, I am not going to be someone else’s pawn or even a pawn of my circumstances any longer, I’m going to create my own life on my terms, or so help me God, fail at the attempt,” you will feel a sense of empowerment.
Things may not go exactly how you planned, but at least YOU will be in charge.
Then and only then, are you ready to live your best life…the life you and you alone imagined, not a cookie cutter version of someone else’s life or someone else’s expectations.
All of us need to take this step if we are to move ahead from merely existing to living a full, happy and meaningful life.
The question is then:
Are you ready to A.P.R. for your life?
