Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are. – Dale Carnegie

I love this quote! It reminds us of two important things:

  • Our reputation is what others think of us. This is not so important to me as their perception is clouded by their judgment which is of no concern to me.
  • My character is what’s important though. Am I true to my value and core beliefs? Do my actions match my values? Am I true to myself?

Those are the marks I wish to leave for myself and others.
